ANISA Resource Centre Lending Policies

Lending Policy

Members of the Anabaptist Network in South Africa (ANiSA) have borrowing privileges with the ANiSA Peace Library & Resource Centre. A member may borrow up to 4 items at any one time. Books and print materials can be borrowed for a period of 3 weeks; multimedia materials (CDs and DVDs) may be borrowed for a period of 1 week. The item(s) can be renewed once.

ANiSA members in Pietermaritzburg can come in to our library, located at Project Gateway, to access materials. ANiSA members outside of Pietermaritzburg can contact us through the Ask a Librarian contact page, and special arrangements can be made regarding getting delivery and retrieval of the book as well as the loaning period.

All journals and periodicals are a part of the ANiSA Peace Library’s Reference section and do not circulate. However, members of ANiSA can request an article whereby a copy of the article will be posted to them.

Fines for Overdue Materials

  • Overdue books will receive a fine of R0.50 per day.
  • Overdue CDs and DVDs will receive a fine of R1.00 per day.
  • Fines must be paid in full before further items can be checked out.

Damaged and Lost Items

If an item is lost or is returned in damaged condition, the member is responsible for the replacement cost of the item, plus R10.00 processing fee, plus applicable taxes.

Renewals

Books and other materials can be renewed once for an additional three weeks. This can be done in the following ways:

  1. Through the Ask a Librarian contact page. Clicking on this link will create an email. State your name, the items borrowed and the request for renewal. This will allow you to keep the item for an extra three weeks.
  2. SMS your name and request to our librarian at 074 714 1712.
  3. Come to the ANiSA Library and Office, located at the Evangelical Seminary of Southern Africa, 189 Pine Street, Pietermaritzburg, and make your renewal in person.

Note: Renewing your items after the due date will also stop the accumulation of over due charges.
