East Londoners this weekend can spin their way towards raising funds for a local charity.

Ultimate Events and Body Culture Health and Wellness Centre are hosting the Body Culture 48-hour Charity Spinathon at the Hemingways Mall amphitheatre at the weekend.
Pedals started spinning yesterday as people from all over the city joined in the fun in aid of a good cause.

Brett Armstrong of Ultimate Events will be doing the full 48 hours while one-hour slots are available to corporate groups and members of the public. Body Culture has donated 35 spinning bikes for the cause, which will be on hire for participants at R50 per hour, with all proceeds going to the charity – Living Waters.

“Living Waters does an amazing job and they are a dynamic team led by Melonie Gobel, and so far we’ve received massive support from corporates and the communities who have jumped on board,” said Armstrong.

Living Waters CEO Melonie Gobel also joined Armstrong and the other spinners. Despite being slightly out of breath, she wore a smile on her face and showed much appreciation for the support given to Living Waters.
